DG's Division Power Rankings after 7 weeks

AL East 1. Toronto Blue Jays (21-16) Stand a game behind the Sox and Yanks as of now but have been the most consistent hitting team. Halladay is the best pitcher in the division. Blue Jays lead the league in runs scored with 217 so far. Could have fallen apart since the Burnett injury but instead have rallied off 7 wins in their last 10 games. Look for them to consider their success vs the Angels coming up. Chacin has provided a nice gift with 5 wins so far. Troy 'nicest looking swing in the league' Glaus is leading them in rbi HR and Runs. And hes not even their best offensive player. By the end of May the Jays will be in first.

    2. Boston Red Sox (21-14) The injury to Matsui puts the Red Sox ahead of the Yanks for now. Clement still is having control problems. Paplebon has been brilliant with 13 saves already. How long can Mike Lowell keep up his .325 batting average ? The best from Manny and Ortiz is still yet to come so the offense seems to be just fine. Youkilis is batting .318 and third on the team in RBI. Nixon and Varitek are getting their as always timely hitting. Schilling Beckett Wakefield is starting to be the toughest 3 game series in baseball.

    3. New York Yankees (21-14) two of their prized out fielders are hurt. This team is in serious trouble. In the last week they have 1) lost Matsui for at least 3 months and probably the regular season. 2) had the Boss come out and challenge A Rod to step up his play and 3) watched Randy Johnson get shilled on the mound. Yankee fans, you are not getting Torri Hunter, this season or next, so stop beaming at him making Willie Mays like catches in center. Bubba Crosby is a better defender then Matsui and has an average bat and proven he comes up with timely hitting. Why mess with that chemistry? Interesting series coming up this week vs the Rangers, a team they sweept 2 weeks ago.

    4. Baltimore Orioles (18-20) Have to face the big 3 from Boston to start the week off which isnt going to go well for them. Miguel Tejada should demand for a trade more veheimently next off season, where his MVP like numbers can be put to good use. Doesnt look like this team will figure it out this season although they won 3 in a row it was against the Royals.

    5. Tampa Bay Devil Rays (15-23) a year away still from really contending. Biggest bright spot this season for them is Kazmir is 5-2 with a 2.94 ERA with 48 strikeouts. Going to be a legitimate ace and cy young pitcher for the DRays in years to come. This teams young nucleus is very promising and i would like to see them put in enough effort to get to around .500 for the season. Oh and for those people who put Carl Crawford above David Wright on draft boards, i hope you are standing well with his .261 average and 1 home run.

The baseball regular season is a marathon not a sprint and with that being said it looks like the Sox have the best chances so far of coming away with the crown. They will be on fire after the all star break through october. Pressure will be on A Rod to step up the offense with their 2 big sluggers out and Cano who will likely be batting 5th now. An outfield of Melky Cabrerra, Damon and Bernie is a defensive nightmare for Joe Torre.

    AL Central
    1. Chicago White Sox (24-12) No team hase more character then these bunch of Sox. They lose 3 games in a row and are threatened to lose 1st place. They fall behind 7-3 after the FIRST inning vs the TWins. Come back to win 9-7 and prevent a 4 game slide. With COntreras out for 2 weeks it hasnt really hurt them because Brandon McCarthy is more then a legitimate big league starter. Konerko and Thome are the closest thing to Manny and Ortiz. Joe Crede and Jermain Dye each have 7 homers so far and are making the 5 and 6 spots look like 3 and 4. Most balanced offense of speed/power in the bigs.

    2. Detroit Tigers (24-13) The Tigers are still on fire after sweeping the Indians. They bring a 4 game winning streak to the Twins this week where their young gun Justin Verlander will face Johan Santana, the best pitcher in the AL. Jim Leyland is manager of the year so far. I'm pulling for the TIgers to make the post season. Great baseball history and tradition in that city and not too many parks are built as large these days as the Tigers park. Why isnt anyone talking about Kenny Rogers, the re-surgient Kenny ROgers, who is 6-2 this year to start off the season. And dont forget their best pitcher, Jeremy Bonderman. The Tigers will keep on rolling into the month of June. Somewhere Ty Cobb is smiling..beating the shit out of an armless and legless person in the grand stand, but smiling none the less.

    3. Minnesota Twins (17-20) 7.5 games behind the Sox already is not where you want to be but with the best picther in the AL and the best defensive center fielder in the AL, the Twins can make a run at the wild card first and work their way up. Besides Hunter they dont possess a real power hitter and Rondell White has been God awful in the DH spot. Still put them in front of the Indians because they SHOULD shorten that gap from 7.5 games to 5 by months end.

    4. Cleveland Indians (17-21) the trendy pick pre season that didnt pan out and I was the only one who didnt jump on the bandwagon. Their ace is back finally and Sabathia should be full steam ahead for the rest of summer. But Lee and Westbrook have high ERAs and low wins so far. Paul Byrd has been the best starter for them by far it seems like and his ERA is 6.50. They have 5 guys hitting over 20 rbi so far but the problem is timely hitting. Hafner has been their franchise player so far but we are still waiting for Grady Sizemore to really show up. This young team is a lot like the DRays, a year away from really competing but with slightly better starting pitching in the 2-5 spots. Lost 6 in a row but have the next 7 games vs the Royals and Pirates. Can you say 24-21?

    5. Kansas City Royals (10-25)

In time the Sox and Tigers have the only real chance of winning this division. I know its only May and Im narrowing it down to two teams but thats the truth of it. Which one of those two teams that wins it will be determined by the head to head games, as in last years race the Sox had with the Indians. Tigers have been 0-3 so far but with vets like Pudge and Magglio theres hope that will change.

    AL West

    1. Oakland Athletics (18-19) took them a while to find their stride but I think they will hit it winding around May into June. they have 3 games coming up against division rival Seattle to make a statement. Theyre only 1.5 games out of first and Zito has just 2 wins. Hes been cooking up though in his last 3 starts. its a marathon, not a sprint. Haren is looking impressive. As for their offense, Nick Swisher is in the top five for AL MVP. Leads the A's in avg, rbi, HRs and runs. Bobby Crosby and Milton Bradley HAVE to start hitting over .250. Only two players have 20 rbi for them so far. Thomas and Chavez are looking pretty consistent and timely hitters so far.

    2. Texas Rangers (19-17) Young Mench and Blalock have been a consistent threesome for them so far. Texiera still has to get going and Phil Nevin has been one of the biggest surprises of the year. The Athletics starting pitching gives them the edge right now because the wild card will definetly not come from the West in the AL. Francisco Cordero has not panned out to be the closer they hoped and the rest of the bull pen is shaky. Kevin Millwood is a far cry from his dominance last year. Im a little skeptical on how long Vincent Padilla and John Koronka can keep anchoring this rotation.

    3. Seattle Mariners (17-22) Have the pitching staff to climb back in the AL West race but not the hitting. No one is batting over .300 and has more then 5 home runs. Ichiro is having a terrible start by comparison to past seasons.

    4. Anaheim Angels (16-22) The starting pitching is decent, Escobar has been nice all season. No ones being productive except Guerrero consistently. I feel bad for picking them to win the AL West. The missing presence of their ace and last years cy young winner is really hurting this teams confidence and swagger. No power either except of Vlad.

The A's will come out winning this division when all is said and done.

    some AL East drama
Becket Vs Burnett, 2 young flame throwing righties going up against each other. This was my game of the week to watch. As it would turn out, it was absolutely the right call. 3 weeks into the season and it keeps getting better and better. The Sox got off to a blistering start while the Jays are still trying to figure some things out but look like once they gel, they can be a contender in AL East. Both were seeking a win. This is my favorite pitching matchup in baseball.

Highlights from the Blue Jays (7-7) and Red Sox (11-5) game Friday night.

    - first 3 innings Burnett is pitching like Nolan Ryan, dialing up his 98 mph fastball and painting the corners with it against the Red Sox hitters. Looks to have no arm trouble whatsoever.
    - Beckett is matching him pitch for pitch mixing in his dominant curve that is second only to Zito's.

    - third inning Bengie Molina sets up outside for Burnett to paint the corner against Ortiz but badly misses the target and Ortiz sends the 97mph fastball down and inside over the right center fence for a 2 run shot and the lead. Burnett is the first to make a mistake in a game that seems like mistakes will be few and far betwee.
    - next AB, Manny goes deep for his first home run of the season. Took him 51 at bats. Great sign if you are a Sox fan. Burnetts arm is looking a little troublesome.
    - becket gives up some runs in the 4th to vernon wells, who hits his 1st of 2 home runs that night. 3-2 sox.
    - Watching this game, it really looks like this is the toughest division ever. The bluejays lineup is solid and has everything you need to win and score runs. I have never seen a purer swing then Troy Glaus. Textbook all the way. Im going to enjoy watching this BlueJays team a lot this year.

    - surprise surprise, burnett leaves the game after the 4th inning. he already had Tommy John surjery once. this kid has the potential to be the next nolan ryan with his fastball but he's the nomar garciapara of pitchers.
    - Beckett falls apart in the 7th allowing 3 earned runs. Including Wells second home run. Then Troy 'sweet swinging' Glaus hits a back to back solo shot to tie the game up off of Timlin. God I love these two teams lineups.

    - Manyy has hit 2 HRs in this game, he is going to be fine. Once him and Ortiz get it going together again the Sox could have the dominant advantage in this division. While the Sox have some starting pitching problems, its nowhere near the Blue Jays problems.

    - Bottom 12th, Glaus works a walk. He is all around a great hitter and player. Next batter he gets to show off his speed as lyle overbay hits a gapper for a double and Glaus motors all the way from first base to score the winning run.

    - Blue Jays go to 8-7. Who knows how long Burnett will be out but this team should still be confident. Their best pitcher is Halladay and hes making the start Saturday against the Sox. The lineup is solid 1-9 and they have experienced bench posistion players.

    - Sox are going to be alright, but suddenly find themselves only half a game ahead of the surprising orioles for first.

    - last note of the game, it was the worse Ump'd game i have witnessed this year. Both teams had strikes called balls and vice versa. The worse was with 2 outs bot 12, keith faulke threw what seemed to be strike 3 on Overbay but the ump called ball. next pitch, game over. Regardless, Faulke should not be in uniform.

Other thoughts on the AL East
    - the Yankees pitching rotation is in serious trouble. Johnson has gotten lit up his last 2 starts and was lucky to not lose the first of those. A part of me wants to see the Yankees do really well just to see that lineup in the post season but they need to first find a 5th pitcher in the rotation. I dont care how good your lineup is, you can not win a division title with a 4 man rotation in this day of baseball. Its just plain stupid to even think so.

    - A rod choked twice against the Orioles with a chance to give the yanks the lead or tie it up. Bottom of the 9th. 2 on base, down 1 run. He has a 3-0 count. Ends up striking out. i just dont see any desire in this yanks team. they think they can turn it on whenever they want but the truth is there is 4 teams in that division who will beat you if you dont show up to play.

the Baltimore Orioles. I dont know why no one saw this coming.

Their infield is Melvin Mora, Miguel Tejada, Brian Roberts and Kevin Millar. Thats as good as any infield in the AL East. They have the rotation to keep it going, too. Cabrerra is their young phenom, Benson is their experienced pitcher trying to make a point in a new town and Bedard is their coming from no where to win the Cy Young guy. Hes 4-0 with a 2.77 era. Now they can still fade as the season goes on but its a good feeling for a franchise in complete disaray at the end of last year. I mean, if they win the division that would be fine, as long as its not the Yankees.

Games Im watching Saturday - cabrerra vs chacon, see how this young phenom does against baseballs best lineup.
the jays sox game 2 to see how my pic for Cy Young (Halladay) keeps the momentum going. Vs a guy named DiNardo, I think the Jays will pull this one out.

at 2pm im going to mlb.tv to watch the complete game of Cinncinatti Vs the Brewers. I want to see this Reds lineup that is producing runs like crazy this year and decide if I want to join the bandwagon.

Might watch the Rockies and Giants at 8 until the Mets come on at 10 or the Angels A's, but the NBA playoffs start today and suddenly I am very interested in watching. This is a day reserved for staying in my dorm and watching sporst all day. Its pouring rain all day here in New England and the Spring Festival was cancelled. But they are still giving out free food so maybe ill drop by. At least now i have an excuse to watch sports all day.

    God I love baseball
Starting Next Week I will have a concrete format for this column.

I am pumped to write this weeks column. Im missing A Bronx Tale in my dorm basement to kick off Gangster Movie Week so you know this is going to be good.

Random Thoughts Week 2: No way Shelton and Thome become the AL's version of Sosa McGuire 1998. Best hitter in the game, hands down: Albert Pujols. Adam Dunn is one goofy mother fucker. Damn can he hit though. I still am not buying the Reds coming anywhere close to the playoffs. Aaron Harang and Brunson Arroyo are not winning you the NL Central. Most impressive single game performance of the week was Carlos Lee in the last game of the Cards series. Robs a home run and a line drive running into the fence in the bottom of the 9th that would have been walk off hits for the Cards then leads off the top of the 10th with the game winning solo shot. This years AL East might be the most intriguing division race ever. The NL East might only have one team finish the season over .500 . My pick of the White Sox vs Mets in the world series looking pretty good so far.

What Life is All About: Ahhh I come home for Easter weekend for 3 days and 2 of them i got to Shea to watch the Mets. Now the greatest Mets game I ever attended was Sept 27 2000 when the mets clinched the wild card over the braves, on my birthday. My family didnt even reach the car until an hour and a half until the last out was recorded. But Friday night came close, went down with just Fish. Reason one why it was such a classic game; 6 pm we leave Goshen with pouring rain from here to Queens and we go determined not to come back until seeing a Mets game. We were listening to 660AM Mets radio and Steve Summers is doing the pre game show and he does the weather update and says.."If you are a Mets fan and are in the car right now going to Shea with a 75 percent chance of no game, you...are...a...diehard." Rare moment in a kids life he gets his loyalty appreciated like that, especially by Steve Summers. So the game starts an hour and a half early. 2:we have our own section in upper deck behind home plate all to ourselves, 3:the Cow Bell Guy is doing his thing, 4: Shea is rocking, 5:Im cursing and dropping one liners the whole game WHILE keeping the Scorecard and then 6: Wagner sprints out from the bullpen in the 9th with a 1 run lead to Enter Sandman. Thats what life is all about, I could never ask for more. My mom is from Park Slopes, my dad is from Benzenhurst. I always wished i grew up in Brooklyn to play baseball all summer every summer and attend mets games everyday like no big thing. Now i am doing that and its what any kid could ever ask for. I appreciate the history of baseball, the history of my parents who lived for baseball growing up in the Sixties and for my moms scrapbook she made in 1969. Pretty good call to start making scrapbooks the year the Mets won their first World Series. I look at the NL standings she cut out and taped in once a week, the newspapers clippings, the tickets to games she went, right in Shea where i am doing it now. She went to over 20 games the summer of 69 when the Mets won the world series and saved every ticket. I think about my grandpa, born in Italy and raised in Brookly, a die hard New York Giants fan. I think of how he spent every summer day at the Polo Grounds rooting for the Giants with his friends and drinking beers when they were like 12 and 13 years old. The fact its Easter and my family is a big italian catholic family adds even more emotion to this weekend. I guess I am trying to make this the perfect summer and season because it will be the first time in my life the Mets win the World Series. And Im taking it as gracefully and innocent as an eleven year old kid would. Saturdays game at Shea was great too, over a handful of my friends went, all die hard baseball fans who understand the game, and it felt like where i was always suppose to be. if it wasnt for baseball, i would have to grow up.

AL player of the week: Josh Beckett, SP(boston red sox) The AL cy young so far.
NL Player of the week: Albert Pujols, 1B (St Louis Cardinals) 4 home runs in 4 straight at bats. Batting .341 now. Here is something to think about - Why not Pujols for the triple crown this year? I'm not calling it, I'm just saying if anybody in baseball is going to do it, its Pujols.

Biggest disappointment so far: Manny Ramirez. after 13 games - .214, 0 HRs, 3rbi. And the Red Sox are still 9-4 in 1st. Scary.

Pedro gets his 200th win. Crunching the numbers, he is a top 10 pitcher of all time. Got the WS ring, 3 Cy Youngs, no doubter for the Hall of Fame. Best winning percentage all time. Pitchers are so underrated as a whole when it comes to talking about baseball players. Look at what Greg Maddux is doing. 2-0 so far this season with an ERA of 1.46. His WHIP is .89. Nice to see old guys like Maddux Schilling and Johnson doing so well early on. Another reason why this is going to be the greatest baseball season of all time. the big names are making early cases for Cy Youngs and MVPs. A column to come soon only on my top pitchers of all time.

AL East Outlook - Sox can grab an early substantial lead but they have to put away bad teams like Seatle. The yanks have the Unit and Moose going against Toronto in their 2 game series then after those 2 losses the Blue Jays will have to face Becket but not Schilling. SHould be a tough week for the blue birds. Looks like the Sox and Yanks will go down to the wire again with maybe the Orioles making some noise. It was nice to see Daniel Cabrerra pitch 7 shutout innings, this team can be a wild card contender down to the last week. AL East Power Rankings - Sox, Yanks, Orioles, Blue Jays, Devil Rays. Devil Ray fans, you should be thanking the Lord for the 7-6 start but Casey Fossum and Doug Waetcher arent going to win you the division. Kazmir has the lowest ERA for your starting pitchers so far, but his ERA is over 4. Not good. I want to root for you and say you'll win the division but right now just concentrate on hovering above .500.

AL Central - How do you not love Jim Leyland?? Manager of the year. He already won it. The Tigers need to establish a winning attitude though. They started off winning a lot but it was so alien, they didnt know how to keep it going. A 7-6 start is nice, I hope they get back on track vs the Athletics. Both teams have post season thoughts on their minds. im picturing a 1-1 series going into the last game which is Bonderman Vs Zito. Ill be watching on mlb.tv. Cleveland and Detroit just split 4 games, showing how competitive this division is going to be. Also shows how so many dominant teams are in the AL, not the NL. And Minnesota is making it a 4 team race now. Power Rankings - Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Minnesota, Kansas City. A PS thought here - the pitching staff for the Royals, worse in the history of baseball. The yanks lineup vs the royals rotation and BP is like jordan playing that autistic kid 1 on 1.

AL West - The division no body wants to win. Seatlle will sweep the Rangers. I love this Seattle team. Theres no chance the AL West is going to have the Wild Card team this season so the the Seattle staff could pull it out for them. I didnt like this A's team going into the season and I dont like them now. Angels or Seattle to win this thing. PR - Angels, Mariners, Athletics, Rangers

NL East - the mets are 5 games ahead after 12 games. never has been done before by any team. historic season coming up to be added to what pedro already has done. Mets Phillies Braves Nats Marlins

NL Central - Cubs, Cards,Astros, Brewers, Reds, Pirates. Astros offense wont keep up, either will the Reds. Especially the Reds.

NL West - Giants, Rockies, D Backs, Dodgers, Padres

What Ill be watching on MLB.TV this week (besides my Mets)

Tuesday - 10 05 pm Felix Hernandez of Seattle Vs the Rangers.

Wednesday - 8 05 Capuano Vs Petite in Houston

    Thursday - Bonderman Vs Zito 3 05 ; Kazmir Vs Wakefield 7 05

Friday - watching Beckett own the Blue Jays

    2:45 am
i never want to see carl crawford ahead of david wright on a fantasy draft board ever again
First off, I would like to thank some of my readers for making influential comments and the great success of my first column. fish, thanks for your season predictions, i know you didnt make any for the post season, but we know thats because you dont want to jinx anything. sneaky smith thanks for finding it humourous. and last person to thank, nick turi, for saying it was funny and to keep up the good work. just cause we root for different new york teams doesnt mean we can't get along. You're on for that 100 dollar bet buddy, a nice little friendly wager.

First Impressions: Felix Hernandez's first start in the big leagues, wow. King Felix indeed. The mariners didn't get the win, they got shutout in fact, but that's not Felix's fault. This kid has the nastiest stuff from a youngster since Dwight Gooden. Just looks so natural out there on the mound. For a 19 year old, he didnt show any nevres out there. 350-400 wins i'm predicting for this phenom.

now time for a segment I like to call 'DG's Players of the Week'
NL: David Wright (3B New York Mets). his rbi total won 2 games for the mets alone so far, batted .474 with 2 hr's and 9rbi. most impressive stat: no strike outs so far. the kid might be the best situational hitter the game has ever seen
AL: Chris Shelton (1B Detroit Tigers) Shelton is busting out with FIVE home runs in the first 6 games. On pace for 135 HRs. Batted .583 with 9 rbi. I had to give him the nod for the first week because odds are he will fall into mediocity pretty soon as the season catches up with him (and the Tigers). He already ended the week today going 0 for 4 with 3 strike outs.

    DG's 1st Power Rankings of 2006

    1. Boston Red Sox (5-1) When David Wells gets back, the Sox will have the best rotation in baseball. Curt Schilling has 2 wins already with a 1.93 era. Matt Clement is the best 4th starter in the league. Wakefield is back on track and Beckett is a solid Cy Young candidate. And Paplebon is the best closer they have had in years. Pitching wins championships, ala the 2005 White Sox.
    2. Cleveland Indians (5-1) Travis Hafner and Victor Martinez (best offensive catcher in the league) are leading this team. Lost there ace Sabathia on opening day and have reeled off 5 straight wins since then. Only thing to watch out for is this young lineup all getting in a slump at once. So far Bob Uecker can keep the booze in the cabinet.
    3. New York Mets (4-1) Glavine has two solid starts, Pedro is more poised then ever and most importantly Trachsel is 1-0. Here's to hoping Zambrano stays on the DL. Once reyes and beltran really get going, this will be the dominant lineup in the NL. The Bullpen has been the complete opposite of last year's so far.
    4. Oakland Athletics (5-2) Milton Bradley and Eric Chavez are well on their way to All Star seasons. Blanton and Zito pitched back to back shutouts.
    5. Milwaukee Brewers (5-1) The surprise team out of the gate that is the real deal.
    6. Detroit Tigers (5-1) The surprise team out of the gate that is going to fade.
    7. Chicago Cubs (4-1) Just swept the Cardinals. That's gotta count for something. Derek Lee is probably the NL MVP so far. Look for them to continue the hot start with a series against Pittsburgh this week.
    8. San Francisco Giants (4-2) Took 3 out of 4 from the Braves. Enough about Bonds, this team has a solid lineup, just something about them I don't like. All the media pressure about Bonds will eventually bite this team in the ass. And the Braves aren't that good this season...
    9. Colorado Rockies (4-2) Making my pick for them to win the NL West a wise one so far. Scored 32 runs in the games versus the Padres on the road, imagine the damage they can do at home. Finally Little Leaguers can be pround to don the purple and black.
    10. Chicago White Sox (2-4) They are the defending champs. Thome is on a tear. Things will go back to normal this week when the ChiSox SWEEP THE TIGERS.
    11. Toronto Blue Jays (3-3) Chirping along to a sweet tune so far. BJ Ryan is looking worth all the cash he recieved. Series this week vs the Red Sox and White Sox will evaluate how close this team is from being contenders.
    12. Houston Astros (4-2) Going to be even better when Clemens returns mid summer. Finally he will win games 2-1 instead of losing them 1-0. Berkmans quickly becoming a star in this league.
    13. St Louis Cardinals (3-3) The sweep to the Cubs wasn't a fluke. This team has a couple issues to adress if they want to repeat as champs in baseballs toughest division.
    14. Anaheim Angels (3-3) This just in, the Yankees drilled another bomb off Colon. Escobar looked real sharp and that lineup has so much speed they will be in the hunt to at least the end of August.
    15. New York Yankees (2-4) Randy Johnson and the 4 dwarves. Thats their rotation. Still, with that lineup, no excuse starting out 2-4. History tells us theyll get back on track soon but if youre a Yankees fan, you cant tell me youre not a little worried that you are 3 games behind the Sox after only one week.
    16. Arizona Diamondbacks (3-3) Nice start, especially for being in the worse division ever in baseball. Still that pitching staff doesnt have an ace and they will get lit up at Coors field. El Duque in a Diamondbacks uniform is just wrong. That would be like if Steve Francis ever played for the Knicks. Certain guys should not go to certain cities.
    17. Atlanta Braves (3-4) With only one other real baseball team in their division, they could still sneak in as a wild card team. But the injury to Chipper Jones puts them down here at 17. None of their starting pitchers have a win after 7 games. Seriously though, watching that injury to Chipper Jones, right up there with the Derek Jeter slide into 3rd on opening day a couple years back. You cant tell me youre not a pussy when your first names is 'Chipper'. I dont know whats higher so far, Tim Hudsons ERA or the amount of cholesterol in Mo Vaughs blood.
    18. Seattle Mariners (3-4) Something about this team makes we want to root for them so bad. I am in awe of Felix Hernandez. With jamie Moyer and Washburn in the rotation with him, this team can surprise a lot people. They already have, with Ichiro only batting .200 so far. So many holes in the lineup though. Back to back shutouts is not a good sign your hitting is where you want it to be. Adrian Beltre, do you want a bat to go with that swing???
    19. Cincinatti Reds (4-2) Okay guys, how long until you start playing like a team that had Aaron Harang as an opening day starter? At the Cubs and Cards this week means the only number changing will be the 2.
    20. Los Angelos Dodgers (3-3) THIS WEEK WAS A GREAT WEEK OF BASEBALL. I FELT LIKE MY PITCHES ARE STARTING TO COME BACK TO THE RIGHT LOCATION BECAUSE LINDSAY LOHANS NEW MOVIE SHOULD BE A GREAT SUCCESS.EVERY TIME I EAT AN 'O HENRY' BAR I FEEL LIKE CORRECTING IT AND SAYING NO, MY NAME IS NOT HENRY. AND DONT SOUND SO PANICKY. YOURE ONLY A CHOCOLATE BAR. THERE WAS A LOT OF CHOCOLATE IN THE MOVIE WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. FACTORIES IN THE 1800s USED LITTLE CHILDREN AND IMMIGRANTS TO DO THEIR WORK FOR CHEAP LABOR. I DONT KNOW WHY IT DIDNT WORK OUT GREAT FOR THEM BACK THEN, BECAUSE NIKE SURE IS REELING IN THE CASH TODAY. Oh, sorry, this is Dan again. Somehow Derek Lowe snuck in my room and started typing.
    21. Tampa Bay Devil Rays (3-3) Will either get way better or way worse. I hate seeing Scott Kazmir out pitch Roy Halladay. If he was still on the mets, this season would be over. They still seem a year or two away from being a playoff contender.
    22. Washington Nationals (2-4) A lot of experienced hitters on this team, an alright pitching staff with a dominant ace. Should finish 3rd in the depleted NL East. But hey, at least Soriano was only complaining about switching posistions for a month, Jeter has been a bitch about it for over a year.
    23. Kanas City Royals (2-3) Prepare to lose 25-0 for the next 3 games when you come to the Bronx.
    24. Balitmore Orioles (2-4) Its going to get worse before it gets better. Daniel Cabrerra has 47.25 reasons why this team sucks. And it will only take him 1.1 innings to tell you all of them.
    25. Minnesota Twins (1-5) Biggest shocker so far as in teams that would struggle to start off the season. Santana is has lost twice in one week. Might be the worse hitting team in baseball.
    26. Texas Rangers (2-5) Potential for an awesome lineup, nice to see Phil Nevin off to a decent start. But then again, he was traded FOR Chan Ho Park. Not even the hot dog guy who wins at Coney Island every year would be traded for Chan Ho Park right now. Something has to give. A good case can be made they have the worse pitching rotation.
    27. San Diego Padres (1-4) You can start out 0-161 and still have a chance to win the NL West. No need to panic yet. got the Marlins and Braves this week to bounce back against.
    28. Florida Marlins (1-4) My pick for team with the fewest wins this season. But when you have Dontrelle Willis on your team you always have 1 victory a week. Except if hes pitching against David Wright with a 1-2 count. I know the names of more people in my sisters 6th grade homeroom then I do of the Marlins starting posistion players.
    29. Philadelphia Phillies (1-5) Probably a worse team then the Pirates, but I couldnt put a team named after a blunt in dead last. At least Phillie fans still have Rollins hit streak to root for, he only needs to hit safe in 54 more games to break the record...
    30) Pittsburgh Pirates (1-6) Just when Philly fans were thinking of moving to Pittsburgh to become Steeler bandwagon fans, the Pirates convinced them not to. Who else besides me has already forgotten the Steelers won the Super Bowl last season? Did the playoffs even really happen? On Super Bowl Sunday I was flipping around looking for the Super Bowl game and all I could find was the Seahawks vs the Steelers.

    Opening Day 2006
Top 3 days of the year I go to bed just because I can't wait to wakeup.
    1)baseball opening day
    2) Christmas
3)nba draft (to see who the Knicks WOULD have gotten at the number 3 pick because they finished 867 games below .500 but traded the pick away in hopes of reaching the playoffs)

10 Reasons Why I (and everyone else) Loves Baseball and Is Glad It's back:

10: Ortiz, Guerrero, A Rod, Andruw Jones, Wright, Tejada, Pujols (twice), Lee (derek), Lee (carlos), Rolen, Matsui, Piazza, and Thome all went deep in the first game. What a home run race it should be.

9: Curt Schilling and Tommy Glavine. Both got wins, Glavine was brilliant with location while Schilling was plain filthy. Not bad for some old timers.

8:The syringe thrown at Barry Bonds. I'm sorry, I know it was dangerous but I hate you Barry, I hate everything you stand for, and I would like to recruit the San Diego fan who threw the syringe at you to come to Shea stadium when the Yankees are in town, see him play 52 card pick up with Alex Rodriguez as hes coming off the field. Side Note: When Bonds picks the syringe up, it actually looks like he injects himself with it.

7: The Call- after the Mets vitory, dialing up my parents and listening to them talking about the game, doing their best not to sound fake, because we both know they didnt watch one single pitch. and then its my turn to do the poetic retelling, grossly exagerating how well the Mets are looking and then getting my dads insight because he followed the game online at work the best he could. first thing he says to me : "how long will it be until Nady and Beltran switch posistions in the line-up?" i love baseball.

6: Making fun of the announcers. Michael Kay, we get the picture. The game last night At Oakland was suppose to be cancelled because of rain. but it never rained. You don't have to tell us this 512 times in the first 4 innings. You think God said "Man I will be so pissed off if I dont get to see the Yankees play tonight, Ive been waiting all spring training for this. Sorry Oakland, no rain." And please, whoever did the Braves vs Dodgers game on ESPN, you are not funny at all, shut the fuck up, and stop trying to make the corniest jokes possible about baseball to real life situations. I gotta hand it to the Sox announcers though, much better job then I hear from the Mets ones. great insight on the smallest intangibles of the game. and please, this goes out to every team in baseball, its not funny when the announcers joke about the daily trivia question. we know they ask the same god damn question every opening day, don't take to much pride in remembering the answer. and most of the announcers are former great players, and the correct answer is usually the announcer asking it. no, real good job though, remembering you have the record for most whores banged on the road for Opening Day.

5: Baseball Tonight. love that show.

4: The Red Sox hair and the Athletic's beards. Since when did the Red Sox sign Johnny Depp to play Left Field???

3: A random IM online from a couple of friends, dissing me for being a Mets fans and how 'prestigious' the yankees and their 26 rings are. while all the time forgetting the only thing that counts is this season. as it is every year. I especially love the IM's i get from my friends who are Yankee fans saying Arod is better then David Wright. In all honestly, I think they are evenly as talented, but Wright always gets that clucth hit when the game is on the line. A Rod is not aware the season is longer then 4 months and every game extends past the 5th inning. Just recieving those IM's tell me one thing: the mets/yankees war for the back cover is officially on, the rivalry is back on, i can't wait to see the Sox knock off the Yanks for the division and I love being the under dog to all my friends. makes it that much sweeter when the Mets finally win it all. with a great core of farm system players.

2: seeing nomar garciapara get injured on his last at bat of the pre season, starting his 'turn around' year on the DL. something inside of me just laughs at that, in a way of releasing my angst for being a Knicks fan. jimmy rollins swinging at a 3-0 count to keep his consecutive hits streak alive. can we say its snapped because of that? would dimaggio have swung at 3-0? didnt think so. Derek Lowe getting lit up by Atlanta. Was I the only one who saw this coming? He needs to be where his initials are. the Dodgers are going to be the biggest joke in baseball this season.

1b A Rod's new nickname ( no homosexual joke, nothing obscene at all. but way, way more hurtful) - Mr. March

1a The Braves blowing a 10-5 lead even though they eventually won 11-10. As a Mets fan, it's nice to see the Braces ace get roughed up then see their weak as early 1990's barry bonds bullpen go all Braden Looper in middle relief. Mets will take the division lead soon, and never look back.

Predictions - AL MVP Ortiz. NL MVP Pujols
whoever the fucking idiot at ESPN was that predicted Bobby Crosby and Barry Bonds should be fired.

AL Cy Young- Roy Halladay NL Cy Young - Roy Oswalt

AL Batting Title - Johnny Damon NL Batting Title - Albert Pujols
    AL West - Angels
    Central - white sox
East - Red Sox (MIKE LOWELL homered in the first game. there has to be some sort of God's touch on this team)
    WC - Yankees

white sox over yanks. red sox over angels. white sox over red sox

NL West - Rockies (just watch)
    Central - Cardinals
    East - Mets
    WC - Brewers

Mets over Brewers. Cards over rockies. Mets over Cards.

World Series - Mets over White Sox in 7. Series MVP - David Wright

    she never heard of cordoroy!
The Spring weather has been beautiful the last couple of days. blah blah blah, all that good stuff that goes along with sunny warm weather. For the last 4 days I havent worn an undershirt. I can picture a conversation on Seinfeld being held about this: (Kramer runs/crashes into Jerry's apartment) "Jerry, I've done it! I'm off undershirts!" "You're off undershirts?!" "Off undershirts!" "Why, what is there to gain without undershirts?" "Oh, Jerry, it's a whole new world out there without undershirts on. It's like the undershirt of my soul has been lifted." "Yeah, and no one want to see what's underneath." This also goes along with my being on cold showers for the last 3 years. both of these changes are working positive. not only do i like the feel, but it also is a better look. Not to say all of my white undershirts have gone to waste, I wear them playing basketball everyday. it's the perfect system.

    Nova all the way
2006 is turning out to be one of the best years of my life. The best years of my life I think were 2-4th grade when school and my sport teams were all doing extremely well. I turned all my grades from high school and am disappointed with recieving 90's now on tests. My parents are proud of me and are so happy I'm doing well in school again and having a lot of options. it feels so good getting A after A, i dont know why i started to fuck up in school after 8th grade, but i miss the times when i was first honors in middle school. hoping to make the Deans List for the 1st year, which im on track for. In highschool I was constantly worried and afraid every decision I made was gonna be bad, now I am not worried at all about anything. So 2006 has brough me excellent grades and options and friends here. Another reason it is going to be a great year, is the Mets could win the World Series. This is the biggest factor. All summer long cheering the Mets on at home and at Shea with my friends. This is going to be a summer i cherish and soak in every experience. If the Mets win it all, i want to do it right. And third, a lot of great times are guaranteed for going back home to Goshen. march madness, the Bn concert, sandlot. this is the same way things were going up until high school, and im so glad things are back to where they belong. this is life, not some movie where other people dictate my actions. plus my family is having a really good year, my dad is gonna be able to retire the way he wants, my moms enjoying her job at the cp center and my sister is getting good grades in middle school. and 2006 musically is going to be the best of the millenium so far. the arctic monkeys so far is hands down the album of the year, and i dont think Bn will top it on my list. I hope this doesnt jinx the rest of good fortune to come this year, but i just wanted to reflect on what could be the best year of my life, after a quarter over.

    finally some good fucking weather
"its 4 in the afternoon, i should be up and gone soon.
here is the shirt that i'm wearing out,
torn at the elbow from too much football
and one size too small all around"
    - the promise ring

First day of spring fever weather and we had a huge game of tackle football on the rugby field. the field was completely muddy, but the teams were equal and felt just like high school football, everyone going all out on every play, i was so nasty on defense. tackling kids twice my size. had an interception off a tipped pass. our zone defense was so nasty. there wasnt anyone too overskilled for us. exactly half black half white kids, everyone playing as one. it was a good sight. i even quaterbacked for a while, and pretended i was brett favre. i made a couple real nice throws to this tall lanky fast kid. it just felt so good to knock the shit out of someone again and then help them up and everyone was cool about it. now we have spring break so we're looking to get next weeks game on thursday instead. i hope we do, i dont want to wait 3 weeks to play again. some kids were actually on the ccsu football team, it was the biggest fucking rush i have had so far on campus. then we went to eat at the caf all dirty and muddy. it felt just like the old PFL league from back home. i cant wait for softball signups. haha i actually wore out the shirt i played football in, my classic Orange david wright shirt. it motivates me the whole time because i dont want to play like shit while wearing a Wright shirt.

please dont look at me, my body is a false illusion, being a prison to my mind. and so is yours.
Ahh what a week, had mid terms like crazy and a surprise quiz in math. Bio midterm, 140 mult. choice Q's, World Lit and Brit Lit defining key terms, recongizing story passages and authors and pretty much they both had the same exact essay question. brit lit we got the question before the exam for a week so i seriously think i got a 100 on it. it would be pretty bad if i didnt considering. i think i got into wordsworth, coleridges, shelly's and Byrons brains pretty well. for the last 2 weeks since i last wrote in here, i had so manny poem excerpts from the Romantic period i wanted to post that have changed my whole life over the last couple months but its 2 15 am, i played basketball for 3 hours tonite and i am too tired to look them all up. next post though, be prepared for some crazy ass 17th century wisdom. got a 100 on my math quiz this week. fuckin advanced business math, im the only student under 30, and everyone in the class tries to show up the teacher. whatever, i just smile and let my appearance of being young fool them into thinking i probably fail every test and never do any homework. but the teacher knows, and thats all that matters. 100, 100, 99 and 100 so far in math. seriously, less fucking go. once i have enough college credits its gonna be SEE YA ccsu and im taking my wicked college gpa to psu hopefully. gotta carry on the fam tradition. haha unless i fall in love and let that decide what i do. i kinda miss the days when i would do that. but if i regress then everything i have done so far would be for nothing.

CCSU has been so much better this 2nd semester. my friend down the hall John and i have made up a Seinfeld cast of people in our building, and it feels just like goshen. we even have a Newman! the Newman kid is just like him, its so funny. i have 5-6 kids im gna miss when this years over so i guess thats good. maybe ill stay in sam may and not get an apartment. i have to decide by march 17. i actually wouldnt mind staying here for spring break if everyone else did. but come on, i cant lose touch with everything from the place i was born. goshen will always be my in my blood, born and raised. haha i guess this really isnt that great of an update. no philosophical talk from me, no complaining. a lot of arrogance. people tell me all the time 'dan, get off your high horse.' and you know what i say? 'as long as i am alive, i might as well be riding.' Soo me and John reversed our peepholes like Kramer does in a Seinfeld episode and we are trying to get it to spread so everyone will be able to look in whenever they want. it really betters the community, it makes you be a better person because you are on a 24 hour watch. ughh a lot has happened in 2 weeks heres some things you might find entertaining:
i tired out for a spot in CCSU's entertainment night by doing a stand up audition. it was all original jokes and stories, but the thing is the NAACP is putting the event on, so all the judges were black. and a lot of my material stems from seinfeld and his style. so i hope they got the jokes. i dont do your standard racial jokes cause thats really a cheap laugh. A brilliant comic is Mitch Hedburgh, ive been following him for about a year. this guy is out there. but it felt so good walking around on stage with a mic, if i get the bit, it will be in a packed auditorium on campus with a couple thousand people in the stands. im going to create so much fucking energy in that place, but even if i dont get the bit, i had so much fun auditioning and i did a real good job for my first time i think. i gotta get so much experience, negative or positive. i guess my ultimate goal is to have success in stand up and use that to launch all the poems and prose i wrote about philosophy and other things. i just want the gig to act like an asshole on stage in front of the whole campus, to tell you the truth. less go.

Best album of the year so far is The Artic Monkeys, 'Whatever You Think I Am, Thats What Im not'. deserves all the buzz and attention it has gotten. the new Mogwai album came out march 7th on my dads birthday, not really liking it all that much. oh well.

first of year college has gone better then i ever thought it could. it really is true, you meet so many new and different people. i have so many options now on what to do with my life, I feel like I owe everything to my parents for making it possible. i dont know how i could ever repay them but my Mom being proud of me is all i really need to let myself know my life is everything i can make of it. shes the only person in the world i would seriously die for, so it just makes sense if my number one goal is to make her proud. i never have time to call, i actually am looking forward to hanging out with her spring break.

softball signups next week, cant wait for that. CCSU has an awesome baseball field. been running at the indoor track 4-5 times a week to keep my starving indie appearance up. haha really its to keep in shape, what good is a healthy mind without a corresponding body?

hopefully the next time i write in here, i will be full of emotion and on an angst attack to make it a little more interesting. uhh i just wanted to add that on this week i have placed northstar/cassino above brand new for most anticipating album of 2006.

last thought of this entry: Water has been found on a moon of Saturn. how fucking awesome is that? seriously i hope they solve the whole death problem in my lifetime, cause i wanna explore every planet as a habitable place sooo bad. saturn has been my favorite planet since i was like 4. that and having the dinosaurs come back. those are the 2 things i want to do before i die. see a real live dino and explore saturn. haha a year ago it was fall in love and do acid. oh how college has changed things. i probably would still take falling in love over seeing dinosaurs alive, maybe not exploring saturn though.

ps. i would like to thank wordsworth for making me get in touch with that 5 year old kid i use to be, and re discovering pantheism in nature. i actually remember those unconscious states half awake half asleep where everything felt connected with me, most significant sun beams on my face. the Brand New line from the Demo 1, " all that i remember is the feeling of waking up when we were kids" is almost word for word as a line i found in a Wordsworth poem describing all the mysteries of the universe accessible when youre a child.haha that was when i had blonde hair, blue eyes, and was expecting a brother. now i have brown hair thats completely straight, hazel eyes and my brother died after 8 months in my mothers stomach. i couldnt help but end the entry on a depressing note, i am fucked up like that.

    to love and be loved
The last week has been the best week I have had so far at central. not just here at college but in general my life has never been better. the hard work from the first 2 semesters is starting to pay off in my grades, and im really enjoying all the classes im taking. nothing i do nowadays feels like its wasted. i had a great weekend home in goshen and it reminded me of all the great times there and how just because im somewhere else i cant have the same great times with different people. as far as dormlife is concerned the first 2 programs back were really awesome and last night i won the butterfly effect dvd and 10 bucks at target. plus the best wings ever were at the program. and i won 7 bucks from this kid in my hall because we were all hanging out in this one kids room and im not sure how but the orange county choppers got brought up and iwas like oh yeah theyre from my county but no one there even fuckin pays attention to that. and this one friend of mine was saying they were from californias OC and bet me 7 bucks that the main shop and the filming were both done in Cali. So we look it up online and he was wrong on both accounts and i made 7 bucks. Today I had Brit Lit class and we talked about the poem 'Dejection: An Ode" by Coleridge and its pretty cool how he refers to his Ancient Mariner poem in it to clarify some things up and how he is almost having a conversation back to Wordsworth from Wordworths poem "Immortality: An Ode". Now we are on to the Romantic poet Lord Byron and I have to read his play/poem Manfred by tuesday which should be no problem because i am excited to read it. Then i had lunch with alicia and some of her friends i havent met before and that took up a good hour and a half doin errands with her around the campus. came back to my room at 2 and borrowed the vaccum cleaner to finally clean all the dust off the floor. i really liked the way i did my hair today. well now i have to study for a math test at 7 tonite and either practice piano or start reading Manfred in my free time today.

    oscillate wildly
Internet related suicides increase in Japan. How the fuck is that my problem? All the poets warned us shit like that would happen.
Wordsworth and nature Vs Plato and philosophy, who would win a fight to the death...
Depends if it was outside or inside. haha.
But seriously, Wordsworth is the man. Almost a taoist approach to things.
Expostulation and Replay and its twin poem The Tables Turn are amazing...

    "Enough of Science and of Art; Close up those barren leaves;
Come forth, and bring with you a heart That watches and recieves".

    Wilde.Morrissey.Lacey.
Revisionist history from literature to music.
'The Harlot's House' by Oscar Wilde is currently my favorite poem.

I think that maybe Human minds are so complex and intelligent we invent things of Sacred nature
to comfort us about things we are not knowledgable of. We look up to the heavens
and ask what else is out there, what supreme being has control of our lives
because we are scared as shit to think
that we are the most superior beings in the universe.
Because we know how fucked up we made the world and we need someone to say
its because we are ignorant little children building blocks and knocking them down.

Love is not an illusion. Out of all the Forms, love cant be seen, heard, smelt, felt or tasted.
Although theres many aspects of chinese philosophy i agree with, this is not one.
I fall in love with almost every girl I meet. And the ones that are as fucked up as me
I stay in love with. Walk your whole life in my shoes and tell me
love is an illusion. even if the love between 2 strangers coming together is an illusion then
the love from a mother to a child most definetly is not. i refuse to believe it. and the odds are that it is real.
I think sometimes ancient philosophers were so determined to make a gray area out of the black and white
they forget there is no gray without the black and white.
    "Truth becomes fiction when the fiction's true;
Real becomes not-real when unreal's real."
    - Confucious on the realms of illusion in the world

    or

    "Look to the cookie."
    - jerry seinfeld on..i have no idea what the fuck he was talkin about actually

New Thursday album on May 2nd. Pretty stoked about that. one of the handful of bands i still listen to that i did in high school.

Then turning to my love I said,
"The dead are dancing with the dead,
The dust is whirling with the dust."

But she, she heard the violin,
    And left my side and entered in;
Love passed into the house of Lust.

All time NFC vs AFC teams
In celebration of the Super Bowl, here is my all time NFL teams. Tonight feels like Christmas Eve, only in a more violent type of way.

Linebackers- The posistion football is all about. The toughest guys on the field. Anchors of every defense, it is only fitting to start with them. One player who is hands down on the list is outside linebacker Lawrence Taylor. I don't even need to elaborate on this choice. Middle linebacker for the NFC? Dick Butkus. Mike SIngletary (a former Bear) was a close second pick, but he didnt come close to Butkus in pass defense (22 picks to only 7 by Singletary) and Butkus brought a fear into offensive players that has never been equalled. His name was Dick But, dont ya think he wanted to afflict as much pain as possible on the other team? Ray Nitchske is a close pick, greatest linebacker in the 60's but off the field he was a big softy. Butkus was in kill mode all the time, it was who he was. As for the 2 outside linebackers to complete the starting lineup, there is much debate. With LT blitzing and filling the line like no body's business, the other outside linebacker should be one more suited for pass protection and speed. For this spot, I give it to Derreck Brooks, who anchored the 2003 Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a championship and led one of the top 10 defenses ever. COuld cover the flats as well as go one on one with the best tight ends in the league and always came up with the big time interception, plus he was probably the fastest linebacker in the NFC in his hay day.

Now to get to the AFC. A lot of great linebackers come from the AFC and you can probably put the 1975 Steelers starting 3 on the all time list and get no complaints and could probably shut down the NFC all time team. For starters, Jack Lmabert is the Middle Linebacker here. Just take one look at his face, his missing teeth. I would put him as the number one linebacker all time in football. Just take a look at what he did when it mattered most in 6 AFC CHampionship and 4 Super Bowl games. Has 28 all time interceptions showing off that great range and speed (even better then Brooks) and played intelligent not just out of control. For an outside linebacker, I would have choose Lamberts left side buddy, Jack Ham. These two are on pretty much anybodys list. 32 interception, 25 sacks and 21 fumble recoveries. 1975 defensive player of the year. But Junior Seau has a ridiculous number of career tackles and is the complete package for blitzing, scrapimg and pass coverage. Its going to be tough to decide who gets the nod. Now for the last linebacker here I am going with Derrick Thomas. Overall the best linebacker of the 90's he is the only player to have SEVEN sacks in one game. Followed that up a couple weeks later with SIX. He did this in the NFL, not in highschool. 121.5 sacks for his whole career, no one besides LT could blitz from the strong side the way Thomas did. He was LT but in the AFCE. Not many but him up there as one of the greatest because of his death shortly after he retired but I will be stunned if hes not a first ballot hall of famer. greatest defensive player in Chiefs history.

    Defenisve Backs: AFC Cornerbacks
Rod Woodson is one of the most unbelievable corners ever. Moved to safety in the later part of his career, he had a career total of 71 interceptions and was feared as much as anyone. Blanket coverage and superb hands. Mel Blount is the second of all time. Judging cornerbacks is so hard to do because its not all about interception stats, but the ability to make the quarter back not even throw to their defender.
Safeties: Rodney Harrison may be the hardest hitting safety ever. Prowled the secondary for the Patriots in their 3 championship seasons. Doesnt get enough respect on the all time list. One of the leading tacklers in history for safeties and he could blitz like crazy with 27.5 sacks. Joins Woodson and Blount in a secondary that can cover the Justice League. For the Free Safety, Ken Houston of the Houston Oilers. 49 picks for 898 yards and returned NINE for touchdowns. At 6-3 can cover even the taller recievers of todays era.

    NFC Secondary: Cornerbacks
Rodney Barber is the only cornerback of all time to have 20 sacks and interceptions. This is with sacks not being recorded back in the day but still, Barber is one of the few corners in the game today who will make it in the HOF. Premier CB of this era and has speed and athletic ability to cover the fastest of recievers. Alongside of him will be Dick "Night train" Lane. Has the 3rd most interceptions of all time, with FOURTEEN in his rookie season. Might be the second fastest corner of all time next to Deon. (Deon doesnt make the list because of his lack of tackling ability and his attitude of always going for the big play)Over 1200 return yards off interceptions number one of all time, with 5 TD's. Nighttrain Lane in my book is the number one corner ever. Had that type of Randy Moss attitude of finess and was fun off the field. What a match up Moss vs Lane would be to watch. Mirror images.
Safeties: The greatest saftey of all time, Mr Ronnie Lott. No questions about. We'll put him at Strong Safety. Not only owned in the regular season, stepped his game up even more for the niners in the playoffs and Super Bowls. For Free Safety Im going with Brian Dawkins. This guy has hit harder then any other free safety despite his size and has owned the Philladelphia wide reciever opponents. When doesnt he make the pro bowl? Just his presence is enough to scare the hell out of 15 plus yard route recievers.

    AFC Defensive Linemen
Tackles - Mean Joe Greene from that vaunted Steelers defense in the 70's. Has the speed and moves to still win 2 defensive MVP awards in this era. Right next to him Ill have to put Warren Sapp. One of the greatest interior linemen ever, 7 time pro bowler, one of the more massive Tackles ever. I know he only played 2 seasons in the AFC, on the Raiders, but i think Al Davis would agree that is good enough. He'd say something like 'he played for us last so if he goes anywhere, its on the AFC roster.
DE - Bruce Smith. All time sack leader with 200. On the other end, Jason taylor. At 6'6 he knocks down all types of passes, has 93 sacks after 9 seasons and has forced 27 fumbles. One of the quickest DE's ever, goes well with the brute strength of Bruce. Much more athletic then DE's of the past. Howie Long close but a little too undersized.

NFC- DE - Reggie White. greatest End to ever play the game. For the other DE, Deacon Jones, Strahan and John Randle all will be fitting. It will be a close call.
Tackles - Alan Page. Played before sacks were recorded, but after the league watched every one of his games, calculated 173 in his career. Probably was the record when he retired. 23 forced fumbles, 28 BLOCKED KICKS, 9 straight pro bowls.
John Randle - 137.5 sacks, 26 fumbles forced.

Wide Receivers: AFC - Tim Brown, Don Maynard. Marvin Harrison, Lance Alworth back ups.

NFC - Jerry Rice. Now who would be the best to go along with Rice? Moss is probably the best ever at going deep and jump balls but doesnt have the stregnth over the middle. Rice was known to do it all, 70 yard fly patters, 15 yard ins across the middle, deep posts to the sidelines. TO might be a good counterpart for that tough over the middle presence. It all has to do with who the QB picked is going to be to suit their style. Monk, Irvin maybe? Alright nevermind, I'm going Randy Moss. Dude already has 98 TD's in 8 seasons. If anyone is breaking Rice's records, it's this guy. Should prosper HUGE in Oakland but those amazing seasons with the Vikings place him in the NFC.

Offensive Guards - AFC - Joe Delamielleure, led the way for the leagues first 2,000 yard rusher, OJ Simpson. 6 pro bowls, all decade team. Gene Upshaw, 7 pro bowls, team Captain, first OT selected for the HOF.
Off. Tackles - Johnathan Ogden. At 6'9 one of the most effecting Tackles of all time in stopping the pass rush. Will have an epic battle lined up against White. Ruben Brown. Made 8 PB's, 300lbs 6foot3.
Center- Bruce Matthews. 14 pro bowl years as center of the Houston Oilers/Titans. 19 years in the league, one of the most durable ever.6-5, 305 lbs, should be able to contain Page and Selmon.

NFC Offensive Guards - Willie Roaf. Led the historic Cheifs O-line of the last 4 years to Priest Holmes breaking the single season rushing TD record, and Larry Johnson finishing with over 1600 yards despite only starting 10 games in 2005. Makes the pro bowl 11 seasons, might be the best run blocker of all time. Made 7 PB's on the Saints so he goes to the NFC team. Randall McDaniel has blocked for five 1,000-yard rushers and four 3,000-yard passers in his career. 12 PB's, 11 straight to break Allan Page's record.
Off. Tackles - Dan Deirdorf, Larry Allen.
Center- Matt Birk. 6-4 310 lbs, 4 time pro bowler currently with Vikings. His size can match up well with Siragusa and Joe Greene in the middle of that D line that old time centers would wear down from. Plus a Harvard grad, very smart in run blocking and opening up wholes. Very vocal and a team leader and spirit in the huddle.

AFC Tight Ends - Shannon Sharpe. Helped John Elway win 2 Super Bowls late in his career. 8 time pro bowler, speed like a wide reciever, 10,000 plus yards, 62 TDs and 815 career grabs

NFC TE - Mark Bavarro - Huge part of the Giants super bowl win in 1990. Famous play when he dragged 4 defenders for 12 yards after the catch on a 3rd and long.

AFC Running Backs - HalfBacks. What a list to choose from. Jim Brown. Marcus Allen. OJ. One game who would you take to pick just one halfback out of all of these, just one game who would give you the best shot? Marcus Allen. No one else rose his perfermance more in big games. I mean how much better could Jim Brown have been then Marcus Allen? Allen was faster, more athletic, could make cuts left and right. And he has one of the top 5 super bowl games ever. Put Jim Brown at Fullback. He can block as good as any fullback ever in the AFC history and the combo of Brown inside, Allen outside will be unstoppable.
NFC Running Backs - Wow it is even harder for me to choose this one. Emmitt Smith, Sanders, Payton, Riggins, Dorsett, Faulk, Dickerson. So many options. One factor would be where is the game being played but all of these backs can take any conditions. For big time performances in big games and overall career success, Smith would seem to be the guy. But he had so much talent around him his whole career and he dragged it out at the end. Im putting Barry Sanders at halfback, the greatest running back of all time. Barry Sanders is the reason I watched football when I was 7 years old. Hes the reason i dont believe in the laws of physics. You would need Einstein to figure out how Sanders does what he does with his feet, shoulder fakes and jukes. The old saying goes "Barry Sanders never got any yards after contact in his career. Not because he was a soft runner, but because he never got touched". He does wear down though and never had success in the post season running the ball. So we put John Riggins in at fullback to lead the way, a real bruiser. Now do you not start Walter Payton? He was the greatest running back ever for the regular season but virtually disappeared in the post season. 9 playoff games only 2 TD's. Pure talent I think Sanders and Riggins are better. One game I want Sanders and Riggins.

The Greatest Question Ever Put to Mankind- Who is the greatest Quaterback of all time in either Conference?

AFC Quarterback - Lets go through the basic quaterbacks to debate first. Elway, Unitas, Bradshaw, Marino, Brady. Marino had the greatest arm, holds almost every great QB record but never won a Title. Pound for pound probably has the strongest arm ever with Favre. This is for the greatest QB ever though, talent wise and heart wise. One game, who you taking, your life is on the line if you lose. Unitas was the first great quarterback but choked in Super Bowl 3 to Joe Namath. It seems he would be the safe bet to start and probably the most fun to watch but he simply does not have that 'it'. Unitas was one of those quarterbacks who could play in any era and be the MVP. If he played 16 games a season who knows how high his stats would be. Won super bowl Five though injured and has a record 47 games with 1 td pass. For reasons being the QB posistion was not that strong and it seems Unitas didnt play as well once the leagues merged, I have to pass. Soo Elway, Bradshaw or Brady as the greatest AFC qb ever? They have 2,4, and 3 rings each respectably. Elway is the comeback kid, never had a great running back until Davis though. And there were a lot of calls that went uncalled in that Super Bowl game vs the Packers. 2 or 3 times they could have called pass interference on the BRoncos on that final drive and no one would have complained. Did the league want Elway to win it, to avoid another Marino? Elway won it again the next year, completely owning the Falcons. And he has the most come from behind wins of all time, including the famous 98 yard drive with less then a minute and a half in the AFC champ game against the Browns. Bradshaw had 4 titles, but had Swan and Stallworth AND franco harris. Not to mention the greatest defense ever for a span of 5 years. He is so underrated though considered a dumb qb. But his football smarts were unbelievable. And of course his arm, oh that arm. The only thing Brady has on him is his good looks. And Brady only has 3 rings. But hes just entering the prime of his career. Could he be the greatest QB ever in the AFC?

NFC quarterback - One game remember, who is the greatest QB ever to win one game. Montanna or Favre? Im going Brett Favre. Not only my favorite player ever, but no QB has the instinct for the game like Favre does. No one has ever won 3 MVPs except Favre, and in back to back to back seasons. He is second all time in TD's to marino and at 36 can easily break it if he doesnt retire. Without a doubt, Favre has the most heart for the game then anyother QB. He has the strongest arm the NFL has ever seen and can put the ball in the tiniest window. True Monatanna won 4 super bowls and is considered the God of Pro football, but he had Jerry Rice. Jerry fucking Rice. And Roger Craig. Favre had Edgar Bennett with him for his Super Bowl run. He had one maybe HOF reciever, Sterling Sharpe. When Favre threw the touchdown pass to Antonio Freeman on the 2nd play of the Super Bowl off an audible he saw at the line and ran around the field with his helmet in hand and hair flying, as a child of 8 years old it was the greatest thing I have ever seen. Life being celebrated at its happiest. I turned to my dad and asked if he saw what I just saw and he just smiled and told me to savor every play because I was watching something special. Favre would never get light headed in a crunch situation like Montanna did in his first Super Bowl when the game was on the line. Im not just saying Favre over Montanna because Im being biased, he is THE MOST TALENTED QB to ever play the game. Except for Reggie White he never had a good defense to win a 2nd title. And the year after he beat the Patriots he should have won on what would be considered the greatest drive of all time if the ref called pass interference on the 3rd down of the packers last possession before going for a desperation throw on 4th. Favre would have come back, won the game on an over 65 yard drive and broken Elways heart once again.

    Lightning Strikes Twice
Jesse Lacey has written the saddest song the world has ever heard, demo song #1. And the anti-war song is amazing, Jesse has such a great way of writing in great detail about all types of events. The way he personalizes the act of going to war in relation to his younger brother, genius. And the 9th demo track, the one that sounds exactly the same as the Smiths, sends chills up my spine. The whole collection of demo's sounds like it could have been written by the Smiths. This has been the dream I envisioned ever since June 2003. I really hope all songs make it to the Album and of course there will be other tracks, for I can't see any way Brand New will only have 9 songs on their next album. Perhaps the line that amazes me the most is in track 2 at the end of the second chorus when Jesse does his best Morrissey impression and half talks half moans "I know I deserve worse but it terrifies me and I can't take it any more." A couple of the tracks the quality is such the lyrics are hard to make out but in general Brand New moves away from their arrogant attitude displayed all over Deja Entendu, turns the emo scale way down and shows just how much they have matured as human beings and musicians. I can see a lot of casual listeners not likeing this next album, fans who only want to hear catchy hooks and whining vocals. I hope Brand New reconigzes their potential and like the Beatles come out with 2-3 albums per year. And then Jesse will become a solo artist! Omg imagine JEsse Lacey as a solo artist!? As long as I live long enough to experience that Ill be content. Lennon did it, McCartney, hell even Jesse's mentor, Morrissey had a successful solo career. Of course compared to the Smiths it sucked. Brand New went from a pop/emo record to the most original just plain out greatest album ever in terms of all genres and now from the demos have almost an indie sound to them with even dryer vocals then Deja in an effort to imitate the Smiths. Listening to the demos, the new album has the potential to be better then Deja Enetedu was, but that is really saying a lot. In such great anticipation of this 2 and a half year album in the making everyone has been prepared to label this next album 'the greatest ever no matter how it sounds'. I dont want to jump the gun just yet. Here's to hoping the demo's were only half of what to expect on the album.

    My Top 5 Bn songs
    1. I Will Play my Game Beneath the Spin Light
    2. Flying High at Tree Level
    3. Okay, I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don't
    4. Jude Law and a Semester Abroad
    5. Play Crack the Sky

i read some stuff in brit lit class and got an impulse to write something. maybe ill put it to piano
closed casket and frigid frozen air. black suits and blank stares. closed-off church yard cornered by strong oaks. learning dead bodies own mocking shadows on the first day of my new life. an applause as the dirt covers everything would seem so fitting. the curtain closes in front of a sturdier stage, where i finally have steady hands and far less demands. if i ever open again these sunken eyelids, i only want to see movies of when we were kids. if i ever hear this heart against my chest, ill make love and never rest. these aren't things to take for granted while you're alive and we should not be faulted for not recongizing, it's only human nature at its best. the static on the tv means everything, as i explore this endless universe it remains the only constant. Saturn sat like heaven on its axis, between its gassy pools and empty caverns i gazed upon a scene from 1993; my mother was at peace watching me sleep on Christmas eve and i longed for salt still in me, for i would have wept eternally.

theres no set rhyme scheme, no brilliant methaphors, just some shitty alliteration and raw free verse. i have this impulse when i read or study great works of literature about life and death to write down my own feelings and thoughts that come out of it down somewhere or it will all bottle up. i dont know what else to say, its not cool to judge your own work so ill shutup.

The Unexamined Life is not Worth Living
The first two days back in college and already I can tell this semester is going to be a thousand times better then the first. The biggest reason is because of the individual changes I have made within myself. It is so true that the human mind and spirit evolve and change every day. Before I go into a long talk about how I have moved out of the Aesthetic stage to the Ethical stage I will describe the set up of my dorm room, classes and my new approach to writing in this journal. (in a later entry i will get into depth about the Aesthetic and Ethical stages but if you are interested, you can look them up online)
Over the span of the last two days I have read passages assigned in my Wolrd Literature textbook. One passage was of a merchant man living in the Mughal dynasty and his autobiography. He left nothing out, reconigzing his stregths and weaknesses, telling no lies, just admitting to the truth about everything that had occurred. He reminded me a lot of myself, but he stayed in the Aesthetic stage his whole life. In todays world it is much to our benefit to keep journals online because of the easiness to correct mistakes and go back and change your thoughts to what you really mean to say. As I have said, I am now in the Ethical stage and am content in myself as an individual and am even on the process of developing my Self solely on my relationship with myself, not friends, family and other social interactions.
Over the winter and the first semester I have read books on the origin of the universe, einsteins theory of relativity and a book called Seinfeld and Philosophy which is my personal favorite. It is NOTHING about the individual episodes, just how the 4 main characters and the jokes and story lines are perfect examples of how the universe works. It is mind changing and the whole time I was reading it, I completly forgot it was suppose to be about Seinfeld. The way it entwines the 'Greatest Weight' theory with Seinfeld is a great treat. The 'Greatest Weight' is a theory proposed by one philosopher, but it is only valid if the universe is infinite. If the theory the universe is not infinite, only expanding and has limits, then this theory is untrue. But here is the jist of it - The Greatest Weight theory is composed of the fact that the universe is infinite, goes on forever, and therefore any imaginable combination of things that can occur, any combination of actions, every exact smell, taste, moment that every organic or inorganic thing has experienced, combinations our minds can grasp, and even ones it can't and as humans we are completly unaware of, will happen in an infite number of combinations and not only that, but each individual combination will happen an infinite amount of times. The reason it is called the Greatest Weight theory is because this means there really is no such thing as death. Yes, we will die, but only to live the SAME EXACT life to the exact time and measurements, an infinite amount of times. Therefore it is called the Greatest Weight because if the universe is ever proven to be infinite, then the theory also HAS to be true, and every action you do in your entire life you have to ask yourself "Do I really want to experience this over and over again forever and ever?" Most people will shout for joy "yay so when we die then we actually dont just totally vanish, we live the same exact life over and over again." But you would not have the power to change anything about it, you would still have to go through the same depressing, stressful and regrettable times just like the good times. At first my reaction was I would rather just live once, die, and be done with it but now that I have the knowledge of this theory and it is true if the universe is indeed infinite, then since i realized it I have lived every second as if i would want to experience it over and over again and tell myself that i am only 18, and I will have to re consider my feelings of this theory later on in life, and if it is a good life filled with love passion and adventure and wealth, then i would not mind going through the first 18 years all over because i would know i would evetually stumble upon this theory over and over again and make my life exactly how i want it. There is so much more I can say about this theory and so many books written about it that I will end this discussion now with just the brief description. Ultimately however, the main goal we should aspire to achieve as humans is to find out if the universe is finite or infinite. That will answer a lot about the origin of the universe and our real role in it.

So lately ive been thinking about what my thoughts on religion are and how i should respond to those thoughts and beliefs. This is another step on how I got to the Ethical stage. And in all honesty, I do not believe much in religion, my religion is my philosophy and my unending search to find the ultimate satisfaction of the soul. Of course I still pray before I sleep and when i wake, mostly thankful for my health, fortune, friends and family. And yes I pray to 'God' but i do not know who exactly who or what that is. The best answer I have come to realize is that God is just a figure to measure our ethics and morals and God is different in every individual. Everything written in the Bible about Catholicism i wish i could firmly believe in but lies are being uncovered all the time and I will not devote myself and my life to an idea that makes little sense of reality. I mean it has been found that Jesus was not born on December 25th, he was born in the middle of August. What else has been falsely written? I still consider myself a Catholic but I am not going to be disappointed when the end comes and there is no such thing as Heaven or Hell. And if the scriptures and everything are right and God really exists then God has to know that as humans we make mistakes and it is only rational for us as human beings to question his existence and forgive us for not fully believing. So I am forever content with my religious beliefs until further proof and studying. And most of the stories had been made up to explain natural events to people thousands of years ago when they could not put them in perspective.

As far as my love life is concerned I have only been back here for two nights but I have put my goals in perspective as far as that is concerned. I have developed a 'WWJD' method for talking to girls, What Would Jesse Do? It has enabled me to go up to all types of girls and just start up conversations but in a special way only i can imagine Jesse would do. I have found that I have this skill to easily psyche myself into doing anything and that is what I have been doing the last 2 days. I have been single now for the last 2 months and it has let me develop a sense of Self uncomparable to any I have established before. The more and more I talk to girls and the more I experience over 18 years the more I realize the awful truth that almost all girls are the same. right now im just trying to, if i can borrow a phrase, plant as many seeds as possible and see which ones grow into a plant, and then fuck the plant. I had a class end at 10 45 and I thought a new one began at 11 15 so i sat outside the room for 30 minutes talking to this girl whos class had been cancelled and she stayed behind to study instead of driving home. Of course she lived off campus, like every girl i met and liked since i have gotten here that i would consider having a relationship with. i am convinced not one girl i would like actually lives on campus. but it was the best 30 minutes of my day and compared to every other girl i talked to she stands out here. so then it was 11 30 and i wondered why no one arrived to class and i find out it actually started at 11 and i was late so i rushed off to class, sadly thinking that i probably would never see her again. i even found out in those 30 minutes she liked seinfeld! so i get out of class and shes still there studying and i tell her how it went since it was the same class she had cancelled and we exchange numbers and says she will call me to study for major tests. i dont even care if she doesnt call now or if i never see her again, I did something i never usually would do by going back up to her after class and trying to work something out. WWJD. Im telling you, it works.

Well it is late and my muscles are all sore from running tonite and working out and my brain hurts from studying all day and learning piano which i am grasping fairly quickly. first class is at 1 tomorrow so i get at least 10 hours of sleep. and the 2nd piano lesson of the semester. goodnight.

Before I go to sleep I examine the possibility that I may not wake up, for whatever reason. Just because I am young, it is not unrealistic to think so. So I judge every night before I go to sleep whether or not it would be alright if I passed. And I think of the Brand New line " I wish for one more day to give my love and repay debts."
If I can say I do not wish any of those things then it will be alright. Tonights status: I still have debts left to pay back and much much more love to give.

Don't Let Music Decide What You Wear And Who To Be Friends With
    http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=227

it's nice to know there will always be a town for me to come back to and relive my highschool routine. thanksgiving break just made waiting for christmas even more unbearable. until further notice i will no longer be getting high. i think its a stage i have grown out of. with my final exams coming up i wont be doing it for a month at least and when i get back home, i dont want to waste having a good time on break with smoking weed. its like cutting my hair- no one told me to constantly cut it, and eventually i got it cut short on my terms when i was ready. im thinking of remaining permantely clean shaven. my parents knew i was smoking and just said i wish you would stop, never yelling at me or putting me down in anyway. i think getting good grades so far in college kept them from doing that but still, they knew i would eventually figure out to stop. with that being said, i can not wait to get fuckin drunk as hell again with all my friends. thanksgiving truly was a warm up.

As far as my life, its basically been going to classes and getting all my work done and studying n shit. i dont wna fuck up what i did right so far at the last second. most of my free time has been spent 1) playing on-line pool (soooo addictive) 2)reading the Wheel of Time Series (i cant wait to go back home and hang out in the new Borders for hours on end making a list of books to get in many random subjects because im such a fuckin geek who loves to read) 3) reading the comic questionablecontent.com . it kinda makes me depressed thinking that might be me one day, 24 and living in a city apartment with no fincancial future of any kid. i know it wont happen, but who knows ive been known to fuck things up before. at least i hope im still devoted to music and things that really matter to me and still be myself.

I guess there hasnt been anything really life changing thats happened in the last month. its not even one month of being single and i am still enjoying not having a girlfriend and not caring how i look or act and play video games until 5 in the morning.
In high school I always tried to blow up every relationship i was in as the end-all be-all of relationships and tried to make everyday feel like i was in love and it would last forever. i guess you call that 'emo' these days. i think of it as not cheating myself in life. well now i am emotionally exhausted and want to enjoy just being a guy. its been going real well of lately. hopefully ill do great in college, make a fortune and live in a mansion with play boy sex slaves and all of this worrying about having a girlfriend or being single and hooking up everynight will be ALL FOR NOTHING. ha yeah like that will ever happen.

Big game this Sunday, Giants Vs Cowboys. Im breaking out the Phil Simms jersey. fuck yeah

ps. my roomate talks to me in his sleep and makes fun of me thinking i am someone different and sleeps with his eyes open sometimes for 10 minutes stretches. It gets me hysterical laughing at 4am and the best part is he never remembers but knows he has that weird condition. one more reason for me to stop smoking weed.

its 2am im bored and this is what i have to say
Nick Torres has the most beautiful voice ever.
During 7 hours of classes, 5 hours of homework,
    and running some errands
that is the only thing that got me through the day.

"this is the way you wish your voice sounds"
That line should be sung by Torres. And no one else.

Sometimes our random thoughts can be our most insightful
My favorite pair of girls jeans got ruined while in Boston.
    They are ripped beyond repair.
A trip to American Eagle is now in the distant future.
I have zero money. First time in my life I regret
    not having a J-O-B.
Good thing for parents. High grades = wallet full of cash.
Im only 18 years old. More then 6 months is too long for me.
It wasnt you, it was moi.
I will not forget our memories, and the next time we see each other
will be the best time we ever had together.
    I mean that.
Cause its over now but it was worth it
if we can still be good compadre's.
I have successfully completed book 8 of the WHeel of Time series.
    8 down, 4 to go.
The next is over 800 pages.
Time to see some serious Forsaken ass kicking! Go Rand!
Larry Brown is breaking my heart as the Knicks coach so far.
Eli Manning and the Giants are the best team ever assembled in the history of football. Not just the NFL.
Here's a tip: Don't be surprised if the next time you go walking to Domino's
from your dorm room to get a tasty treat
it hardcore pours the second you walk out with the pizza
and without any prior warning for it, the pizza gets soaked through the box
resulting in pepperoni soup when you get back.
    Actually, that's not a tip.
However, if it happens to you, you will know how I felt Sunday night.
I just sneezed, my roomate said God bless you, and i got a tissue and blew my nose.
MNF is on now. It should be a good time.

One Day All of What We Know Will Be Passed on Through Stories Told by Gleemen
I could start this out by giving you boring details about the pain in the ass event of getting tickets and schedules for trains and buses to Franklin and Boston, but that's not want you want to read. So i'll just say it was wicked annoying. Thursday morning I get up at 7, pack, eat, hand in my english essay then leave after 2minutes and take out all the money for the trip. my roomate saved my whole trip by being able to drive me 2 minutes down the street to the bus station at 11. I get into this old fashioned smoke shop, purchase my ticket and wait. I cant believe i was independant enough to make it this far. How much more luck will the roll of dice bring me ? I take the bus from new britain to Hautfaud then from there to south station in Beantown. The saves the day show starts at 6. i need to make the Franklin line bus at 5 34. Its 4 pm. The train from boston to franklin is an hour and 10 min. The franklin line is on Turis actual campus. this hsould be easy. 5 12 i get off the train at Turis campus. I run to his dorm and as I am dialing up his friends number to let me in, my cell runs out of battery. Ive been charging it for 10 minutes here and there at the stations but it just didnt have the conditioning to stick it out. So instead i wait 20 minutes until someone finally walks out of the building. Saves the day, we will have meet some other time. I deeply regret not just staying in boston and bringing my luggage to the show and paying the merch guys money to watch it. The dice are starting to fail me. At least ill see thrice and underoath on sunday night...or will I...
So Turi gets in at around 7pm and the events for the rest of that night will be undisclosed here but they involved 40's, Yeager bombs and everything else that goes along with drinking at college. All of his friends and his roomate were wicked chill. His roomate was the star player for Deans football team, a french black kid whos 6'3 and around 250 pounds. But he was mad chill and has a french accent. I could have went without the homosexual behavior he exhibited from time to time but all 6 stars are like that. Goshen has taught me to accept it. The second night staying at Turis campus i go and sign in, get a guest pass. We get to the caf and he has no guest meals on his plan. So i end up paying 7 bucks for a salad and ice tea. Wicked pissed. The rest of the day consisted of playing PS2 with Turi, his roomate, his friend Jerry(who is the coolest kid i met) or by myself. I start to do my homework and around 7 the drinking begins again and so does the nonstop going from room to room all around the dorm and having hundreds of conversations with people ill never remember again. The funniest thing of the night had to be drawing with permanent marker on this kid JD's face and making him think it would come off. He didnt have a halloween costum so we dressed him up as a baseball player. His moustache and sideburns had a wicked haud time coming off. Plus this kid is the floor bitch and everyone just beats the shit out of him drunk or not. The night i get there turi introduces me to hime, punches the kid, lifts him up by the collar and says introduce yourself to my friend. The kid goes "im JD, the Bitch around here." i almost felt sorry for the kid. But if you havnet learned to stick up for yourself by college you desevre whatever the fuck you get.
The more i drink and talk with these kids the more i wish my dorm at college was this chill. Basically I wish everyone on my floor was as immature and stupid as the kids on Nicks floor. it felt like highschool, everyone was friends with everyone. I dont remember all the details from the two nights getting completely wasted at Dean but seeing jerry dress up as sir fuck a lot and go crazy all nite was hilarious. the 2nd night was especially good beacuase of what went down on the second floor. thats all i am going to say about that. ill let you think whatever you want. So saturday rolls around and we are all getting ready for another crazy night of slowly killing ourselves. Jerry and I are driving together to Turis baseball game then going to watch the football team play when no one other then Kieran Payne calles me up. Its 12 30 in the morning, and Kieran Payne tells me he is at Dean. Soooo unexpected. So i give him directions and he meets up with me jerry and the girls from turis dorm at the baseball game. It was good to see Kieran Payne again. And wicked weiard. His hair is like 100 times shorter now. So after the baseball and football game we get back to turis room at 4, find out his roomates girl is staying the nite so the 3 of us need to find somewhere else to sleep. No problem. Off Kieran and I go to Boston, to join up with none other then Evan 'sneaky' Smith at northeastern. Thanks to everyone at dean, turi, jerry, T-rex, cyrus, big show, mike (jerrys friend), the fat blonde kid who fucked an ugly girl, JD (for letting us make your life miserable and still being a complete fuckin joke), the kid who was Bizarro Kieran and every drunk person i met in those 2 days. Dean has a place in my heart, cant wait to come back.
Kieran drives us up to Boston. Boston has grown on me so much these last few months, i cant wait to live there. We meet evan outside, go to to his room and immediately start mixing drinks with coke. Then we buy some herb off his chinese roomate Steve who is the wierdest kid i ever met. We smoke it in his room out of a bong which gave me the cleanest hits ive ever taken my whole life. I was in heaven after it. I can say on record I have never been as high as that night. Evan brings us to the greatest pizza shop i have ever been to, about 10 minutes away from NEU. We get to the shop, order calzones made i swear they were made in heaven and dont have a conversation at all, just sit there in uncontrollable laughter the whole time. my sides have never hurt so much but my heart was loving every minute of it. so after that we take the T train to some part of boston to see Saw 2 since its the perfect movie to see in this state of mind. Sold out until 11 40. its only 9 o clock. so we take the train back to NEU. I was soo paranoid on the train. I actually thought everyone in boston knew i was high and wanted to hate me because of it or get me in trouble. About 10 times i panically looked over my shoulder, thinking kieran and evan had already gotten off. and when i was standing i was unaware of the guy behind me and i guess from what they told me, i was sort of grinding up against him the whole time and he was giving me wieard looks. Fuckin queear he prb was.So we get back to sneakys room and me and evan play drinking games together for 2-3 hours. golf is my personal favorite card game while drinking. Kieran doesnt drink and says his high is wearing off so he smokes with Steve. While taking a hit he Sneezes all over Steves arm and theres loogeys everywhere. The kid looks down at his snot covered arm and then at Kieran like "what am i suppose to do? i want to beat the shit out of him, but hes 7 feet tall." funniest thing that happened all weekend. i have no idea when, but at some point durng the night we got a 6 player poker game going in the common room. i dont even remember if i won or not. cause i lost all the money i had to evan playing dice. from 4 to 7 30 am we played dice nonstop and were completely even. I get up at 1 on sunday, we play for about an hour, i am down 200 bucks. fuckin roll of the dice is stauting to turn against me. The Giants win 36-0 and the 3 of us are all happy cause we all love the Giants. Then its time to finally do what I came up here to do. After almost 4 days of partying its finally time to go crazy. The Thrice and underoath show was alright, not AMAZING. the avalon is a chill place, the Bled had maybe the best set of the night then Underoath came on and only played 5-6 songs, got spit on by aaron a couple times and then Thrice just owned the place. They always play amazing live. One thing that pissed me off was some wicked queear guy in the pit was pulling as kieran said it 'a floppy penis' and not controlling where his body went at all and kept slamming into me and evan. The kid was at least 230 pounds and 6 feet tall and had on a long sleeve dressdown collar shirt which made him sweat so fuckin much. Seriously man have some fuckin control of your body. And about 50 percent of the people there had either a thrice or underoath shirt on. who the fucks wheres a shirt of the band youre going to see. thats like the cardinal rule to follow. in sports its alright, not music. actually in some cities its not even the norm to wear sports teams shit to games. luckily in new york its okay. so thats my complaints about people who pissed me off at the show. the pit and crowd overall had a nice energy to it and i could barely walk after it so i got my moneys worth. Haha after the show we saw the keyboardist of UO and we walk by him and Kieran goes thats the UO keyboardist cause he knows all their names and what they look like. SO we and evan are you wanna talk to him> so we go back and slowly and creepily approach the guy and then we are about 2 feet away and just look blankly at him for 30 seconds and walk away. who knows what he thought. we were waiting for kieran to say something since its his favoirte band and me and evan didnt have anything to say.
so kieran and i are in the NEU parking lot at 10 pm and pack our shit in the car for the long ride back to CCSU and home. Kieran has a flat tire. Like there is no fucking air in it at all. so we put the spare on and the jack breaks halfway thru taking the lug nuts off. so we call triple A and they say the card is invalid because his dad has to be present in order to get service done. so his dad calls up, gets kieran registered and about 2 hours after we found the flat we are good to go. Of course the spare tire is a fuckin donut so we cant go over 50mph on the highway so i dont get back to college in CT until 3am. We were doing 50 in the far right lane while the limit was 65. everyone behind us got pissed off until they figured out we had to go that slow or we were 80 fuckin years old. that was the end of the busiest and craziest weekend of college so far. so good to see friends in other parts of the country and catch up. something in me just wants to travel and be on the road forever and never had a permanent place to live.
no more entries for a while prb. Oh yeah. Wednesday night will be an update. Because Wed. night kicks off the wickedest night of the year where i feel like eleven years old again and i go crazier then alcohol or drugs or love can ever make me...
